Quote from her letter:

“In the subdivision for some reason everyone HAS to have a black mail box. Well, for some reason birds seem to be infatuated with black mail boxes and so before too long they become black and white. One day Elder Parker’s wife told him that she had an idea about how she could spread the gospel. She told him that she was going to paint all of the mailboxes. He laughed knowing that they wouldn’t stay black very long and said, “Go for it!”
Later on in the week he was driving home from work and he passed his wife out painting a mail box. But she wasn’t alone; she was with two young ladies…the sister missionaries! As she painted the owner of the house talked with the missionaries. As a result of this endeavor, there were 97 mailboxes painted and the sister missionaries set up 31 return appointments. The Lord will take whatever contribution we have. The stake president also encouraged all of the families in the stake to come up with a family mission plan and I would propose the same thing to you. Set some goals and identify at least ONE individual or family that our family could try and reach. Life long missionary work is how we KEEP our covenants!”
